Price
The price of the lawyer’s services or the manner of fixing the price is always agreed with the client in advance. The price is based, on one hand, on the demands of the legal service in question, both from the professional point of view and from the point of view of the time requirements, and, on the other hand, on the value of the matter in question.
As a rule, legal services are provided on the basis of a contractual fee fixed between the lawyer and the client on the basis of an agreement, the main basis for the determination of the amount of this fee being the provisions of the Decree of the Ministry of Justice No. 177/1996 of the Collection of Laws of the Czech Republic on attorneys’ fees and compensations for provision of legal services.
As for the field of collection of claims we can offer a very interesting system enabling an effective and financially not very demanding realization of court or arbitration proceedings without the necessity of investing high amounts in legal services. The attorney’s fee depends, in these cases, on the result of the matter, a great part of fee being paid from money collected from the debtor exceed the framework of the principal sum to recovery.
The counselling activity, or a matter that cannot be evaluated in another way, is charged according to the complexity of the matter. In extraordinary cases this rate can, depending on the character of the matter, be reduced; however, in the case of application of a foreign language, of a foreign law or in the case of a complicated matter it is possible to increase the hourly rate.
In the case of cooperation on a long-term basis there is usually a regular and concrete price reduction determined or a lump fee agreed in advance.
Representation before courts in terms of civil proceedings at law is governed, as a rule, by the provisions of the Decree of the Ministry of Justice No. 484/2000 of the Collection of Laws determining the lump rates of the amount of the fee of representation of a party by a lawyer in terms of decision-making concerning reimbursement of the cost of civil proceedings at law.
The corresponding amount of VAT set by law is always added to the price of the legal service.
